V0.0.5 is LIVE!
Wow, big update! I think I suffered a bit from the "just one more thing" on this one. The problem is every time you add something, you extend out the deployment time, and now here we are with a big beefy update. This update should really smooth out the gameplay experience. You travel ever westward to reach the gold, with lots of enemies along the way! Because of how much the game was updated/changed/etc. the bug fix list is a bit small because several of the bug fixes were wrapped into new features. I think you'll really enjoy it and my hope is to take this build out and pitch it to publishers.
NOTE: not compatible with an older save!
WHATS NEW
-NEW WORLD MAP! The gameloop has been pretty dramatically adjusted. When the game swapped to an overworld map system it dramatically improved the timing and "fun," but it was still a lot of walking around doing nothing. To keep things to the point you now travel westward and choose various paths along the way.
-Updated controller input system, added support for most general controllers
-Added TNT
-Added molotov
-Added anti-bleeding bandage

-Added an improved pistol

-Added an improved rifle
-Kercheifs now drop and are unlocked
-Leveling up is now a "per run" system
-Adjusted Win Condition temporarily
-Prompts for reloading, or if using a fishing pole casting
-Career equipment redone
-Enemy drops redone
-Camps are now much more populated
-Reduced the number of plants
-Small towns can spawn
-Abandoned trains can now spawn
-Farms can now spawn
-More forts spawn
-The starting town now looks different depending on how north or south the town starts
-Did some minor graphical adjustments throughout
-added some new set piece doodads
-Adjusted how lanterns work
-Clarified the assay office
-Removed DAZED
-Bullets are a little less inaccurate
-Caves are a bit less likely, but ores are dramatically more likely
-Adjusted the secondary abilities of several items
-Adjusted the way food/water drain.
-Adjusted/updated lighting system
-Gave status conditions names + timer
-When a weapon "breaks" if you have on in your inventory, it'll auto replace it
-your bird friend follows a little less closely
-When you make a character, and die, it'll come back to the character creation screen with the same setup
-Reduced some lag
BUGS FIXED
-You can no longer cook items when your inventory is full
-Black/blank areas on map now collide properly
-Fixed a bug where train trackers weren't the right graphics
-Fixed some bugs with enemies holding their attack forever and never actually attacking
-Fixed a bug where a weapon that breaks will break on the last charge intead of firing
-Fixed a bug where hair would disconnect from the sprite while sliding
-Fixed a bug with the "scared" emote
-Fixed a sublte bug withe animations, and so they should be a bit smoother now
-fixed a bug where you could be stuck moving backwards
-Fixed a hangup when starting a new game
