v0.0.3d is live! Check it out at PAX this weekend!


The latest version of Duster was just uploaded to Itch! I notice it's processing a little slow right now so just be patient while the latest version goes!


For those of you attending PAX WEST this weekend, you can check out duster at the Indie Megabooth this weekend on Sunday and Monday! I'm really excited to be able to talk to players and give out some swag!


WHATS NEW

  • Map system V2 - you can now manually "walk' around the map via a grid, and encounters now spawn randomly and have to be discovered
  • You can simply press a to explore a location when in the map, instead of using the hat
  • Wanted people only show up on the map when you find them now
  • Added some new commentary from your bird pal
  • Canteens now give you more water
  • Made caves slightly easier to navigate
  • Brought the world generation visuals back
  • Added a small cutscene
  • you can now destroy cactus
  • Centered the "lost mine" text when you kill wanted guys
  • Enemies now drop less money
  • Enemies who lose a duel will show getting hit
  • Moving/attacking and jumping now take less food/water
  • Assay office now describes what they do
  • Added a "water bottle" item that is a one use water container
  • Crates now show up inside caves sometimes
  • When entering a cave map you'll be spawned right in front of the cave
  • you can now "push" npcs around, so they will not be able to block doors anymore
  • Added a bit of juice throughout
  • Adjusted the hitbox on doors
  • Enemies can not walk outside of bounds
  • Enemies more visibly parry
  • Adjusted map icons
  • you can now cook at ANY fire, a frying pan is not needed
  • Adjusted the layout of character creation screen

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue with events being canceled before they're read, and freezing a scroll of paper on the screen
  • Fixed a bug with lingering "dark 'areas on the screen
  • fixed a bug where the bird would talk while you're in a menu
  • Fixed a bug where the "fix" banner doesn't go away during character creation
  • Fixed a bug where you could see the debug template on characters jumping
  • Fixed a bug where pressing start while looting would pull down the inventory again, sometimes freezing the game
  • Fixed a bug where the dodge gang tracking you event happens indoors / in walls
  • Enemies will only parry when in range
  • parry will now properly trigger
  • Fixed a bug where the bird could be hit by fire
  • Fixed a bug where going through character creation really fast would cause a scroll to freeze on screen
