Variant 10 is ready for transmission!
Things are really progressing well! Its hard to believe how far this little project is coming along. THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded and provided valuable insights into the simulator!
This week, I worked a bit more on the Humans in the game themselves
there were a lot of questions about how covid was passed, so I create a "radius" toggle. Anything within that radius will be rolling the dice on catching covid if they're exposed for > 15 minutes. The strength of that radius grows as the person gets more sick, as noted by some being more transparent and others being very bright. Covid can spread further than this, but the odds are lower the further you get from the radius until its nothing (there is no air-flow mechanic... yet!)
I already knew the length of time at an exposure sight was a huge variable in catching covid - but I wondered if having a weekend changes things. Indeed it does - having 2 days off seemed to reduce the time it took to spread by up to TEN DAYS on some runs! You can also adjust the overall length of the work day - obviously longer exposure creatures more transmission while shorter work days has less
I then further wondered if working in shifts also reduced covid exposure, since it would cause certain people to never be exposed to the initial carrier at any point. HUGE difference! Shorter days get split into 2 shifts, and delayed the spread by a week or two! Longer days get split into 3 shifts, and I've had a handful of runs where the third shifters barely get covid if the initial carrier is in the first shift! Interesting!
WHATS NEW
- New scheduling features when starting a game - weekends off, and working in shifts
- Display Radius button which shows the danger radius of a covid infected person
- Added more music
- Bathrooms now have doors to the stalls
- Fixed a huge graphical bug with pixels displaying incorrectly (especially with font)
